Their Creation and Their Origin
– A talk on wood sculptures and tree trunks
Date: 22nd September 2007, 10 am – 11 am,
Venue: Fort Canning Centre

What species of trees are commonly used for sculpture? What are the general characteristics of those woods? And how did sculptor go about actualizing their ideas?

Dr. Henriette Lie Schricke, who obtained a Doctorate on Plant Physiology from the Universite de Pierre et Marie Curie, Univ. Paris 6, would address these questions.

A unique experience certain to evoke some artistic talents in you! Skilled instructors will be on site to guide the general public hands-on experience on woodcarving techniques. Tool provided. (Suitable for above 13 years old.)
